I paid a judgement to a law firm. I lost my records.
They were sold to another law firm. The new law firm says I still owe them. I paid via Western Union and as I said I lost my records.

    Am I screwed?

WESTERN UNION may be able to track it...

They "MAY" be able to CROSS-REFERENCE your name and address to all payments that you sent via WESTERN UNION (FOR A MODEST FEE)

Go to the court and get a copyof the release.
The release means it has been paid.
After you get the copy send the validation letter to The new law firm.
Lets see them Validate a released judgment. If they try to collect on it before they validate you've got them because you can't validate a released judgment.

The collection company that we paid never got with the law firm. The never released the judgement. We can't remember the name of the collection company. We think they were in Schenectady, NY. As I said, this was 11 years ago.

    Edited...

I'd send the law firm a letter stating that you have proof that the judgment is satified, and if they try to garnish your wages, or place liens on your property you will sue thier butts off.
