O.K I have a repo that was paid via settlement. It was a joint account and when the other person stopped paying I was left holding the bag. Thus the car was repo'd. I settled and paid the account but it is still showing on my report and the date is wrong by a month. Now here's the thing...I was thinking I would send the nutcase letter notoarized crrr first. Absent a satisfactory outcome (deletion) because it shows an innacurate closing date and loan amount I will follow up with the intent to sue letter and the proceed to file suit if need be. The problem what legal leg do I have to stand on because it's only off by one month and also I want to know what causes them to keep updating the account. Please advise

Incorrect information is incorrect information no matter how you slice it. Think what it would do if there were different degrees of "wrong" information.

What it DOES do for you, is it allows you do dispute in complete honesty as "incorrect, please update or remove the incorrect listing". You do NOT need to provide any information such as "incorrect, this account was paid in March not April". Dispute simply as incorrect.

Most likely your account keeps getting updated because they have the listings of accounts on a "tape" that runs every month updating the CRA with their "current" information...that tape holds all the accounts not just newly added listings.
