I'm very sorry to hear you were denied. That really sucks. Depending on what they quoted as a reason perhaps it's something you can work on?? I hope!

Do you mind sharing the reason with the rest of us? Unemployed, or no proof of income? Do you have any unpaid collections? Any derogs after a BK? Anything like that?

I was approved for $3000.00 mastercard/with stipulations. Provide documentation that derogatory information on credit report is up to date/paid in full. They told me I have one...which is not mine, so I have to get that taken care of before receiving my card...best of luck to all of you

Congratulations to everyone here! That's great there is someone out there willing to extend unsecured credit for more than $200. Thanks to Mongrol for alerting us to this company!

Well........I was approved too, but only for $500. Mind you this was with a 719 Experian score (MyFico) at the time they pulled. The big negative here must have been my BK discharge in August of 2003.

Just for grins I called them and asked them to move it to $1000. The lady I spoke with was very pleasant, and was in awe that my score was so high with a recent BK. Anyway, she told me to hold for a second (I presume she was contacting their underwriting department), but says it shouldn't be a problem and she was really surprised it wasn't approved for a much higher limit. After a couple of minutes she says sorry, but they said no. The only way I could increase the limit is by faxing the manager a request to do so. I went ahead and did this but have not heard back as of yet.

Seems to me one of two things is holding me back here. Either my income is not high enough(43K), or the BK is too recent. She did remark how I had a vehicle loan that is two-years old, as well as 3 additional revolving accounts. Everything has been paid in full since the BK, and of course there are plenty of positive tradelines on my report. That said, there must be some kind of model that limits the CL or doesn't allow approval with a BK at a certain age.

While I am a bit disappointed with $500, I am very thankful they granted me an unsecured card. I have been turned down by Orchard, whom I didn't realize was owned by Household (Included them in the BK) as well as Providian. The latter pulled EQ, where I was at 663 at the time. Nonetheless, thanks Patelco for doing something most others wouldn't do. I certainly will remember that, and you can be sure I will do business with you all for a long time. This marks the end of my search for bank cards for a while. Two is just fine with me, as unfortunately it's just not worth the headache of getting rejected. I'll be looking for CL increases intermittently......at the usual points.

Good luck to everyone here, and I would certainly say to put Patelco at the top of your list!

Yep gold, self-employed. The addresses on my 1099 and license are the same, that is why I don't know why they wanted it.

BF Tex, I can't get a Target card or a Dell. Yet I have an auto loan thru Ford for $18,000 and an auto loan now thru roadloans for $25,000 (refinanced last month-originally thru Household) all paid as agreed for more than a year plus a few credit cards (crappy ones) all perfect and 4 loans thru First National Bank all perfect, one paid off. One over 2 1/2 years old. I think our dismissed ch. 13 hurts a little as well as a collection on EQ and a cross country c/o from 4 years ago. I have a tax lien that shows on EQ so maybe that's why Target won't touch me.

I was denied Patelco Mastercard and Vacation loan. I am very grateful for the $2500 card though.

Just want to add my two cents from another thread where I put all my info...

Got approved for 3k limit (got the card about a week ago)

got approved for a refiance on my brand new mazda tribute... went from 14.95% with Americredit to 5.150% with Patelco.... Payments went from $527 a month to $375 a month

    I love these guys...

I will be getting the visa gold 5k limit in 6 months... (perfect timing for Christmas) They said that it wouldn't be an issue upgrading...

oh...btw... just got approved through american honda finance for my brand new CRV... 446 a month payments (loaded the thing up) interest rate 5.75% (happy with that)

Congrats everyone on your success with Patelco... I found out about them by reading the yahoo groups creditpulls
    http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/creditpulls/

(please sign up and let me know who pulls what in New Jersey, looks like I am the only one pulling for that board)

I noticed that someone with a score like mine got approved for a decent amount, so I tried...

Lets keep Patelco at the top of our apply list... looks like they are BK friendly and are generous on their limits!!

    Nice job people!!

For all who were approved....did you receive an instant response or did it take a while? I'm not giving up hope just yet.

I was able to pay off about 70% of my credit card balances this weekend and I hope that will help my scores.

If I'm turned down by Patelco, how long do I wait before I should re-apply? I'm hoping that my scores will go up enough from paying off most of the balances.

    YIPPPPPEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!!

I just got an e-mail from Patelco and I was approved for a Mastercard with a $1000 limit. It's not a huge amount.....but I'll take it.

I am so excited I can barely stand it !! Maybe they will be extra generous and let me refinance my auto loan !!!

Either way....I finally have a credit card with a semi-decent limit.

Thanks to this website....my scores have gone from the low 400s before my BK to mid 600s.

    THANK YOU...THANK YOU...THANK YOU !!!!!!!!

    Patelco Pulls Experian

When I called to inquire a few weeks ago, the CSR at Patelco said they pull Experian exclusively. She also said that as long as you have no derogs since the bankruptcy, there should be no problem being approved.

I have yet to actually apply though...

call and tell them that you want to balance transfer some stuff, and that you need 3k... thats what I did and I was approved in about 30 seconds... they say... hold on a minute, and your account is updated instantly...

Just need to send them my pay stub and proof a charge off was paid. its only 300 i was just going to let it go but why not, the terms on the loan arent that bad. thanks guys.

    Mongrol - what?

You were approved for a lower limit but asked for a balance transfer for a higher amount and they gave it to you?

    Details. Details.

Probably because their loan products have much higher interest rates....did you do a loan consolidation? That's at about 16%......

I was approved for 1000.00 card initially. I called them up the day I found out, and told them that I need more so I can BT stuff, she said hold on, and about 30 seconds later she said ok... that was it...

I was happy. I asked her when I could have a 5k limit gold card, she says I will qualify in 6 months of established history

I am guessing they are not score driven at all. I think they are like MBNA where someone manually reviews each report and looks at utilizations, and derogs. Navy Federal Credit Union is the same way, they will approve a 100k loan for someone with no credit at all but if you have a charge off (1 dollar over thier max i think its like 500.00) then forget it you cant get crap from them. but they wont even look at a score which i guess is cool.
