Patelco most definitely rules in my book. I applied last week for a visa card got approved and went back and applied for a credit line increase and it happen. I was wondering when you apply and you don't fill out the amout that you are requesting will they consider you application or just approve you according to your salary?

That's probably why. I was told by a Patelco account rep that they do not use a score and that they will not accept anyone with recent derogs after a BK. Actually, she may have said "any" derogs after the BK.

In any case, that may have something to do with it. You should call and ask. I get the feeling they actually do have real people look at the report and make a decision. You at least should get a decent explanation from them.

No downpayment. It is a 66 month loan that works out to 370.00 a month. I'm doing 500 a month because the term is way to long.

Crap One only gave me a $200 limit. It was a mistake to have even applied for the card and I regret doing so every time I think about it!

Patelco rep told me yesterday that they would only give me $2k, so they went with the MC, since the VISA would have been at 14.9% and MC was 9.9%. She said I couldn't get more if I was to do a balance transfer, as $2k was the most they were willing to risk. After six months they will consider an increase.

Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but not completely depressing.

Anyone concerned that they are not a member of the NCUA? It concerns me a bit because deposits are not federally insured, but they seem to be insured by some other insurance. Not sure what to think, but I'll probably apply.

I spoke with patelco today because my checking account has not appeared on my on-line page yet, savings acct, 2 car loans and a visa gold card were there. I received a e-mail on Tuesday stating my checking account had been approved and visa check card had been ordered.
The lady I spoke with told me that regardless of what the e-mail said I was not approved for a checking account because chex systems said NO. I asked what was in the chex system report and she looked and said it had no data at all just a denial??? she went ahead and opened a checking account but said my credit scores were too low for a ATM/visa check card.
I thought it was funny and told her that I could not believe that PATELCO would not give me a ATM card but would give me a visa gold with a $8000 limit and 2 car loans for a total credit risk in excess of $45,ooo. She just said sorry and to call manager tomorrow.

Who knows what they are thinking????

Okay. Here's another "Patelco Rules" yada...yada...yada story.

    Applied for huge auto loan.
    Only needed small amount.
    Few days later, received approval.
Opened up account online with funds transfer.
Will receive Welcome kit in mail soon.
Will start looking for new car tomorrow.

Yes!! Patelco Rules!!! Their rate was better than my current credit union.
