Thanks everyone for the heads-up with Patelco.
After reading some threads on this board, I applied on-line yesterday, called their CS # today, and was told I was approved for $5000 Gold Visa! Taking another tip from this board, I told the CSR that I wanted a BT and needed a $3,000 increase and she put me on hold for 1 min, and returned to tell me that it was approved....$8000CL. The rep did mention that I needed to fax them a copy of my 2 most recent paye and one small derog ($50) over a year ago.

I checked Privacy Guard this morning and Patelco ran Experian, where my score is 690. Last month, I applied for Crap One Platinum and received $1000CL, but they ran ALL THREE credit reports! When I called them to request a CL incease, I was told NO WAY. Over the past 6 months, I had only 1 inquiry on Experian, and 3 over the last year. My credit utilization is @50%, I have over 20 positive tradelines with one small derog ($50).

Again, thanks for bringing Patelco to my attention. Judging from my first contact with them, they are a customer-service oriented company and a class act. Every other CC company should learn from Patelco

I was approved for $2K (see previous post). I have since faxed my paystub, and sent in the $25 check for the new savings acct to be opened. Since this time, I have had to fax my DL and SS# to them, and now I got a letter saying that the $25 isnt enough, they need $50. Anyone else ran into this? Gonna send the second $25 regardless, but seems like a bunch of run arounds......

Well, I jumped on the Patelco bandwagon.

I am currently a credit union member through work, but decided to switch to Patelco as they offer a lot more than mine.

I joined last week, checjing/savings, and deposited 100.00 in my account. I received my checks in the mail the other day.

I decided to apply online for a CC to start a relationship. I did not want to put in a $$ amount but it was required- I put 15k as it seems that was the average amount I have seen online. I think I applied for the Visa Gold (sorry, I don't remember which one it was).

I was approved pending receipt of my signed application. they walked me through printing it from their website and I will fax it over today. The rep said I should have my card and terms within the next 10 days.

Their customer service was outstanding. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I do not know who they pulled yet by I am assuming Experian. For the record, Exp is my lowest score.

    what are your scores?

    that's a big 'it depends!'.

They are approximately 700-720. Exp is the lowest.

    Exp shows a BK7 6 years ago.

Exp has no negatives (except BK7), one unrated.

    Exp has (had) one inquiry.

I am considering doing my refi through Patelco to establish a better relationship. Their rates are quite nice on mortgages as well.

My credit experience is well documented on this board, just search my username. I have detailed it all several times.

I received my Patelco ATM Card in the mail yesterday but still waiting on the Visa.

I plan to use it next weekend so I hope it arrives before then.

Got everything last week (takes about 1 week for all cards).
Better to go to branch to open the acct and etc. Speed up the process.

    One more thing to add.....

I got a call from patelco yesterday. The rep just wanted to ask about my experience so far. She was extremely nice.

This bank has treated me great so far. I highly recommend them.

I didn't apply for credit (yet) and only applied on-line to open a savings, and they asked for all this verification. So I figure it's standard protocol.

Nice Job!!! What % was the signature loan? How exactly does that work? Do you get a check or a check book? Does it entail anything else? Other fees? Did they require anything else additionally? Thanks

I just applied... check a couple hours later and I saw the new account with all 0's.

Called them up, said that I wanted 8500 but they said due to my income and debt they could only do 5k. I said ok.. .they put the money in right there into my checking so I can use my debit card for whatever I want.

14% interest which is kinda high, but it is a personal loan unsecured with payments of only 120 a month.

Patelco stands for Pacific Telephone Credit Union.
Too bad Pacbell went to SBC - If Pacbell had bought out SBC, I would still be there.

Patelco offered a better rate on an auto refinance than my local credit union. That equates to a savings of 1.55%.

After providing the requested documents, the representative allowed me to pick the date I wanted the payment due and stated that the check would be sent overnight. Patelco does rule.

Many credit unions across the country offer shared branch service. My local credit union is a participant. Therefore, I can transact business with Patelco through my local credit union which is about a mile away from my home. What a convenience.

Thus far, my experience has been wonderful. In fact, I've told many people about Patelco. Thanks to the author of the thread for making us aware of Patelco Credit Union.

I lucked out in that a local university is a partner with the Patelco Credit Union- I can use the universities cu branches for Patelco transactions.

I was ready to do everything online but this was an added bonus.
