Very simple test, looking for data. If you're a person who pays the balance in full on your credit card, leave a balance of .99 (ninety nine cents) and see if they carry the change forward or credit it to you.

I did this on Cap1 and they credited to me. Would love to hear how this works w/other cards.

    it also works on Household!

Charged a tank of gas on my HH card. Paid online all but .99. Balance now shows zero.

My working theory now is pretty exciting - if the outstanding balance is under a dollar, it's rounded down to zero.

Now I will try doing small charges and online payments serially - IOW, as soon as my balance goes to zero, charge a small account again, pay all but .99, etc.

If this works, then as many times as one can charge and pay online, one can keep ninety nine cents. The smaller the purchase, the larger the discount. A ten dollar purchase would yield a 10% effective "discount".

Perhaps a lot of overhead, but one could yield $20 per card without much trouble - that's $240 a year that the CC company you target will lose.

Now multiply that by the number of online credit repair folks doing this and uhh... yeah, this could be good.
