Re: Paying enough for Citi increase

George, I know but as it was my first payment then blocked me for 15 days since the FIRST Click-to-pay payment until I can make another one.

Anyway, as far as the increase, should I click on "Increase Credit Line" link after 2-3 statements or should I call them?

    Thanks

Just click on the link. Calling usually gets you an inquiry, clicking usually does not.

Re: Paying enough for Citi increase

Well, after having the account opened for 3 months (and after some rep promising to call me back for the increase at the 3 months mark - which never happened) they (retension dept) would not give me an increase. The reason - still new account. My M2 score is: 96!

She said that is a VERY GOOD score but unfortunately she would not give me one. She gave me an additional 5000 AA miles to compensate which gives me a total of 11'000 bonus miles since I opened the account :)

    Well, any other ideas?

Am also thinking about getting Citi AA Business for my business but do not want to pay that $75 fee. There is a thread about this at FlyerTalk.com but nothing seems to work.

Don't give up hope. I opened an account with Citi in October (after PFB reconsideration). They gave me $5,000. This month, I got bumped to $6,300 without even asking.

I'm not sure what the deal is with Citi $1000 CLs. I opened a Citi & a Discover at the same time, and Discover gave $6000, Citi $1000. Odd. No matter, Citi will NEVER get my business again anyway.

As breeze suggested click the link for limit increases. Also check on the web page if you have any bal transfer offer. Frequently they grant around 2k increase if you transfer some balance.

I had reach 14.5k(from 10.5k) with 2 of these offers
    very recently.

    As far as balance transfers:

We've had a problem processing your request. Please read the instructions below and click "continue" to proceed.

    No instructions :(

    As for credit line increase:

Thank you for your request. Your account must be open for at least 6 months before we can consider granting a higher credit line.

You'll receive written confirmation of this message within 7 to 10 business days. During the evaluation process, a credit bureau report was not pulled. Thank you for using our website.

Actually, the only reason I still charge a LOT to this card is the AA miles and I do not have Citi AA Check Card anymore (no Citibank here, thank god! - because as far as banking with Citi goes- they are bunch of morons!).

This is radicolous, I make 2-3 payments a billing cycle so I can make some space but seems like it is not enough for them.

FYI, if you do your banking with citi, you can link up your cc accts to your citicard... i have been doing this since 1993 and this way i can transfer money into it everyday if i like - no problems.

    allen;

I do not have Citi AA Check Card anymore (no Citibank here)

I ended my banking relationship with them 2 months ago as there is no Citibank in AR. That's why I got their CC, to continue earning AA miles.

I have business and personal accounts so it is kind of inconvinent for me. I do all my banking with BofA and could not be more happy.

It is a matter of preference so choices vary.

Re: Paying enough for Citi increase

    Oh boy!!!

I start to have enough of Citi. I called the "R" dept and again spoke to one of the agents.
He seemed to be very helpful with my wife's issue and gave me some phone numbers, etc. so I asked him about my credit line increase issue.

I explained the situation about having the scores low because of the account that was not supposed to be there and that the scores are over 700 (not 650's) and that my internal M2 score is 97 (which he verified) and he again declined me for an automatic increase. They pull AR on TU every month which is the only one with the bad account and has score about 650-660. You think as soon as my report updates and goes to 700's, it will change their mind?

Also, he told me that being an AU on my wife's ATT Platinum with $5300 CL might have something to do with that. He referred to her as the "person living under the same address".

I asked if me removing myself from there would have some impact on their decision, and he said he doesn't know.

    What a cra*!

    Any comments or ideas?

    My line is $1000 - ridiculous. I charge about 1000-2500 a month.

    Un update,

Today my 5th statement closed, so I clicked on CLI link and got $800 increase! (LOL) to $1800 CL

Do I know have to wait 3 months for another one? or do it after 6th month as well.

Citi is strange. I get the impression most either love them or hate them. :)

But don't give up.....I've been with them since 91 and am now up to 3,500. (chuckle) They will give you hards, but no increase. :)

    CITY SU*KS

I had a Mortgage with Citibank Mtg. years ago and had some Lates. Wonder if they are like American Express and keep history on file forever.

Re: Re: Paying enough for Citi increase

They just gave me an increase, no credit pulled.

Also, my wife's Citi Platinum Select is 5 months old and she got automatic increase of $800 as well, to $3900.

I just pulled TU and see no AR for the past 2 months so I do not know how that happened.

Anyway, after speaking to one of the reps, I was told that my wife's ATT Universal Platinum, which I am the authorized user on, appears on my file with them and that this may cause for such low limit on my card (her ATT is $5300)

My god, our household income is about 100k, we get together not even 10k and thats too much? LOL!

They do not know yet that my BofA got increased to 5k (no AR) so that maybe causing it.

Do you have other debts showing maybe? What's your balance:limit ratio? That would do it. Is that baddie off yet?

Re: Re: Paying enough for Citi increase

Ratio is high as I use the Citi card a lot and never know when they post it to the buraus. Sometimes, 200, sometimes 950.

The last time they pulled AR on me was when that baddie was still there, so that might be the problem. My BofA went from 1k to 5k but has not updated yet. All my credit reports are perfect clean. I think that as soon as they do AR, I should get some more.

There is no other significant debts there either.
