Ok, I'm about to lose my mind. Seriously. Earlier this month a collection account passed the SOL. The collection agency sent me a deletion letter due to the SOL expiring (unbeknownst to me), and in fact went ahead and deleted the account from all three credit bureaus. Before I recieved the letter I actually had already called, negotiated deletion with the original creditor (due to SOL), payed the account and received a deletion letter from the original creditor--not knowing IC systems was about to delete. Well, after being gone for about two weeks the collection account has now shown back up, but this time marked "PAID IN FULL". I called the collection agency to ask what the hell they were doing, and they said since you ended up paying it, and they'd already deleted it, they had to readd the account to update the status for me. Egads, my brain is going to explode. I've still got the letter from the original creditor requesting deletion, so hopefully I should be OK. But this really just about takes the cake. Anyway, I'm calling my lawyer just in case. -- cnswift
