O.k. as you all might know...I negotiated with this tow company for payment and in exchange they were to contact their collection agency and have them REMOVE the item off of my credit report. Keep in mind that I have a signed agreement stating all these facts from the towing company. Well, I pulled a NOTworthknowing and the debt was still there but showing as paid w/ a $0 balance. I get a copy of my Equifax and it showed the same thing.....PAID w/ a $0 balance. I'm sure it says the same on Experian. This is NOT the agreement that we had. Last week I sent the towing company a letter that basically said, Hey.....we had an agreement and reporting a $0 balance isn't what we agreed on, can you please help me to correct this blah blah blah. I have not heard anything from them yet.

Just so I am prepared, what should I do at this point? Shall I contact the collection agency and ask them what's up? Shall I call the tow company? I am hesitant about sending the signed agreement to the Big 3 because I don't think they would abide by it and delete it...or would they?

Not sure what to tell you, funny 57 people viewed this and had nothing to say.

If these are now paid have you tried to dispute them first, maybe the company won't verify and it will be deleted??

    Ok, This is my view...

Your account got sent to a collection agency. The towing company now has nothing to do with the debt other than you paid it. The collection agency has no obligation to change your report to anything other than what they changed it to. Mainly because your agreement was with the towing company, not the collector.

What I would do is lean hard on the towing company IN WRITING and see what happens. They may do nothing since you paid the debt, but HEY, you never know.

    Hope this helps you, MP.

These sob's. I would make 1 phone call to the towing co. Tell them again you have a signed agreement from them and if they don't honor it within the next 7 days, you are filing a lawsuit. I would send a followup letter to them the same day, certified, r/r restating the same thing and also send a copy to the ca. If they don't follow thru - sue them.

You did send the letter certified/return receipt to the towing company, right?

Ok...BBB will impact the towing company as they are an active business. The answer here is the discover I made---Desperation. Do EVERYTHING to make the situation right...call the Towing company president....write, the BBB, Planet Feedback....treat this as if you are desperate for removal and you'll find a way!
