I have been advised by the AG's office of Oregon, that PayPax, while legally incorporated in Oregon, is NOT a registered or licensed collection agency. Anyone who has been contacted by them should register a complaint with the FTC and the Oregon AG.
Thanks for the information Why Chat! Does it make any difference if they purchased the debt? When I did a check I was they were licensed with Oregon but did not realize they had to hold a licence specifically for debt collection. They have about 10 more days to answer my estoppel letter, so this is good news for me...just a little more fuel for the fire! Again many thanks Why Chat! Tuit
