PBM Board change request

    I have a request. You might be able to do this, or maybe not. Here's the problem...

    I read my posts by using the << and >> arrows that appear at the bottom after the last reply. (on the right hand side) BUT, sometimes when I get to the next new post, it's not something I am interested in, and I don't want to read all the replys. In order to hit the << keys, I have to still grab the scroll bar and go all the way to the bottom to get to the << >> arrows.

    HERE'S MY REQUEST...........

    Can we put another set of the arrows at the top right hand side? Under the other icons there?
    On the old board the NEXT was at the top and the bottom.

    It would save a lot of scrolling just to be able to hit the button and get to the next message without moving past the original post.

    Did I explain it right? Thanks.

    Either PBM works fast, or they are already there!

    Nope they are not there yet. They ARE there when you look at the main listing...

    BUT not when you are in a post reading the post and the replys.

    Ah.....must be nice to be regular! lol
    What I'm running into and need to check out more is that it seems that if I'm on the 1-20 posts screen and I use to arrow to just go to next post to next post that I only get the posts that are on that page, I have to come "up" a level in order to get to the 21-40 posts...but maybe it's me, we'll see.

    I guess I am funny. I always go through the pages until I reach the last post I read and then read backwards.... understand?

    I read 60 -40 then keep going up until I read 20,19,18.....3,2,1. That way I end up with the very latest post last.

    If you read that way you don't have to page up like you said to the next page. I can << arrow all the way backwards to the most current.

    Judy,
    I am confused, I get the arrows at top and bottom, what exactly are you doing when they "dissappear" from your screen. Just curious, maybe that will help PBM to see what you are talking about. Also what browser are you using (netscape or IE) -Dave

    Judy,

    The arrow buttons *are* located at the top as well as the bottom, and have been there since day one. You do not see the arrows to the right of the navigation bar? This would be the first we hear of this problem.

    You should be seeing the following at the top: navigation bar (today/post/search/etc.), followed by the thread-specific bar (mail/print/subscribe), and finally the arrow buttons. Others like Dave do see the arrows. I wonder how many of you do not.

    I see the arrows but I have noticed that sometimes the arrows appear on top of other buttons.

    NOPE!!!!!!!!!!

    I have NO arrows at the top whatsoever. I have the:
    today post search acct logout........on the left side
    mail print subscribe........on the right side

    NO ARROWS

    At the bottom right above search I have my arrows. I have to go all the way down to the last reply to hit the arrows.

    I only see the top arrows when I am on the main listing. Sorry. I use Netscape 4.7

    MAYBE THEY ARE "OFF" THE SCREEN...MINE ARE "WAY" RIGHT.

    DO YOU HAVE ANY ADJUSTERS FOR THE SCREEN?

    GEORGE YOU DOLL!!!!!!! THERE THEY ARE. WAYYYYY OVER ON THE RIGHT SIDE.

    I have to move the whole screen over so I can't read anything, but they are there.
    The card markers are way over there too.

    RE-SIZE THE SCREEN SOME-HOW...

    EVERY MONITOR IS DIFFERENT, SO IT WOULDN'T DO ANY GOOD TO TELL YOU WHAT TO DO...

    Resizing doesn't work. Funny that the ones at the bottom are right under the reply button.

    I can live with it. It's not a tragedy or anything. Just an annoyance.

    its most likely an HTML table problem then...off the screen on some not on others. Probably have to wait till a new release of the software, unless PBM can modify the template of the screens we see. -Dave

    Judy,

    That is exactly what I needed to know to fix it. How does it look on your end now? You should be seeing the arrows immediately to the right of mail/print/subscribe. You may have to quit your browser and relaunch it to insure the browser is not using a cached copy.

    The problem is with Netscape on PC- it interprets table data cell widths differently than IE.

    Please let me know if that problem is not resolved.

    Sorry but I had to inflate my ego a bit!

    For future reference when describing your problems it would probably help PBM to solve these issues if you tell him:

    - What browser you use. (IE or Netscape)
    - What Operating system you use. (Win 95/98/2000/Mac)
    - exactly what you did prior to seeing the problem

    IT'S PERFECT NOW!

    It didn't dawn on me that when reading the post the screen was too large. I would have said that early on. Never thought to look way over to the right. But it's fixed and I am a ahppy girl
