I don't know if you know this or not...but I'm now getting popups when I click on the discussions tab. Is this something new????
Hi Erica, No, that is not us. The only time a visitor sees a popup window on our end is in response to clicking on an ad. Other than that we do not employ popups. You are most likely seeing the result of a delayed trigger mechanism using Javascript, something you picked up while visiting another site. Sincerely, pbm
Ok just checking....I've only noticed it here. If it helps...here's my steps.... Open IE6 to yahoo.com Choose Creditnet from my favorites Click on Discussions tab ***popup*** Choose which forum I don't know if this will help you....but I haven't experienced this before today. Thanks for your reply...
I think one of them was lowermybills.com and another one for a secured credit card, I don't remember which one, though. They are definately credit related. I just think this is pretty wierd. Never seeing them before, and all of a sudden.....
Erica, That is strange indeed. Rest assured, however, that Creditnet is not the source of these ads, at least not to the best of my knowledge. Do you get a popup EVERY time you click the Discussions tab, or just once in a while? pbm
Not every time, just occasionally. I noticed it a few days ago, and only got one today. I follow the same routine. I never go to any other site before coming here. I'm so addicted that Creditnet is the first thing I check when I get up, come home and last thing I check before going to sleep. I'll have to keep track of them when I see them, and let you know exactly who and when they come. Thanks.
Just got one....same routine. This one is from www.debtsolutionfoundation.com The ad says it's a whenU.com offer. Don't know if that helps..... Is it possible for them to latch on without you knowing? Maybe that is what they are doing.......I dunno, I only know how to turn on my dang computer.
Hi Erica, The only way an advertiser could "latch on" to us without our knowing is by embedding the necessary Javascript in a page that you visit in response to clicking on an advertising directive on our site. At this point I am reasonably sure that none of our advertisers are doing this. One thing is certain: these popups are not being hosted on our server. They must therefore be the result of a visit to another site. I would not rule out Yahoo. In either case, you are looking at time-delayed popups which is a technique employed by some advertisers and marketing companies. Creditnet does not utilize such, nor do we endorse use thereof. Sincerely, pbm
