PBM! - River does not realize that I pulled the alert and requested that my "inquiries thread - FTC" be closed earlier after a 3rd party got pornographic. Please do close the thread. I am going to give River a left handed compliment in that he came to the same conclusion after I did. I am also going to ignore his "whining comment". It's not wothy of response. PBM - It would be appreciated if you would check the ISP's of the members who posted on the thread. This was the 2nd part of my request to you. It was also the most important part of my 2 requests. I suspect that ala Bobby - We have 1 or 2 members masquerading under multiple names and by using rudeness and profanity are trying to ruin the board and drive the decent people away. Thank you.

We are always going to have rude and boorish people among us. It seems inevitable. We had them back when I was running a very popular BBS in the days long before the internet ever became a reality. Back then, it was easy for a sysop to pull the plug on those who got too nasty and we could do it all the way to the backbone with ease. It's usually not hard to deal with those kinds if one simply goes about it right. I may have missed the porno stuff that is being mentioned here, but given that, I have not as yet seen anything in the thread in question that would warrant closing the thread in my personal opinion, for whatever that's worth. I do agree totally and completely that porno, if it actually occurs, cannot be tolerated under any conditions, and that incessant fighting and bickering can easily ruin a good forum. But I don't necessarily think threads should be indiscriminately closed at the slightest hint of conflict either. Do as you will, PBM. It isn't my forum or my priviledge to tell you what to do.
