I am desperately trying to improve my equifax score but it never seems to leave the 500s. My fako score did at least get up to 576. After this occured I had an inquiry (my only one) and a new collection account post to my cr. That took my score down to 555 FAKO. The negatives lisiting on my account are a bankruptcy discharged 06/03 a judgement (in dispute hopefully to be removed) 06/02 two paid collections from 2001 an unpaid collection from 1999 and the recent collection that just hit my account for $160 dola 03/2003. What course of action can i take to get my score to the 600's. I did of course get several secured cards of which only two of them are reporting. One of the cards are at least 93% utilization and the other one is at 32% utilization. I have tried to remove the 2 paid collections and the unpaid collection from 1999 with NO SUCCESS. What can I do to bring my credit scores up before March. I am trying to purchase a home. I am taking on the credit bureaus the best way I can. Experian and Transunion are a totally different story.
One thing you can do is get your utilization down. There are two ways to do this, of course. One is to pay down the balances, the other is to get the credit limits increased. Try to get the increases without a hard inquiry.
