For my 500th post!! (I know, I can't measure up to you, GEORGE, LOL)...I thought I would post this great offer from PFCU.

Until 3/31/04, Pentagon FCU is offering its new or existing cardholders 3.9% Fixed APR balance transfers for the life of the transferred balance with NO transaction fees!!!

The only stipulation is that the amount transferred must be at least $5,000 from a SINGLE account to receive this rate.

I just took advantage of this and wanted to pass it along!

Do you know if they're score driven or if they actually look at the app? I'm a member, just wondering what their credit requirements are.

Mainly military or DoD civilian related. There may be some other ways to qualify. I'll go check and see what it says.

Here's the link for PFCU Qualifications.

Note that you can join the National Military Family Association (NMFA) and become eligible to join PFCU. I don't think you have to be associated with the military to join it, just want to support the military. It looks like dues are $20 a year for NMFA.

If you have a family member who is a member of PFCU, you can join by having them sponsor you. I sponsored my brother many years ago, and he's never had any association with the military.

Hedwig is correct. I joined last month to get their great auto loan rate (3.49% for up to 60 mos) and then jumped on this BT offer.

I have NO MILITARY AFFILIATION WHATSOEVER. I joined the national military families association for $20 (can cancel after first year) to qualify for CU membership. Now wife can join for free b/c I am a member.

I believe it is score driven since the approvals are instant through the web-based instant decisioning system.

If not approved instanty, the app goes into a pending status for about a day during which time a human looks at it and decides. As far as specific score requirements, etc. I'm not quite sure.

Note that to use the instant decisioning system, you must already be a member and have a PIN. Otherwise, you have to call for your decision or wait for snail mail.

Also, when you apply for membership they will pull a HARD on EQ which they will keep on file for 30 days. Anything you apply for in those 30 days references that initial pull (it is cached in their system) so if you apply for auto, HELOC, Visa, etc. in one week you will only see one hard pulled.

Do they pull only Equifax no matter in what state are you? Whatâ??s lowest score they accept?
    Thanks.

I'm almost positive they exclusively use EQ, but I am not sure of the minimum score requirements.

I know there are several people here that have their cards so perhaps they could share their scores?
