I have been working for a few months to get our reports cleaned up.

Found some interesting stuff out from CSC. Hubby has had one collection account that we have been trying to get deleted for months. This is his very last baddie. Even sent copy of cancellation letter. Still came back verified.

Hubby called yesterday after final attempt at dispute came back failed. He got a little uppity and asked the legal dept to call back. They did within 5 minutes and said they had an employee who was falsely verifying info. They apologized and said he had been terminated and that the collection had been deleted. Felt good to have THEM apologize!!

They said it usually takes things like this to idenify employees that are doing this. So, if any of you have items that keep getting verified when they dang well shouldnt, this may be what is happening.

I think these people that get fired just go get a job with exp!!!

That explains a phone call I had about 30 minutes ago with CSC. I was calling to check the status of my disputes. I had a Verizon that was listed as an unpaid charge off and listed with a collection agency. I disputed it last year and it came back Verified. I spent a few hours on the phone with Verizon and provided proof that it was paid. I then received a letter from that stating that I was "paid as agreed" and that they were informing the collection agency to delete their name from my credit report. They said that sent this to all the credit bureas. I promptly faxed my copy over, just to be sure.

I also had a letter from Citi Financial stating that I owed nothing and was "paid as agreed". I had 3 derogs from an old Associates Financial that became Citibank that became Citi Financial. Some showed a balance and all 3 were FALSELY derogatory. I faxed that letter over last week to the credit bureas.

I called CSC to check status and they said it wouldn't remove the "in dispute" status until the full 30 days was up, even though they had proof. I asked for a supervisor and she was sweet as can be. She asked me to fax the letters to her attention (at a different fax number) and she would personally take care of updating the reports for me and my husband. Now it all makes sense!!

Why would some employee do this?
I'm not questioning that it happened, I'm just wondering how this benefited the employee?

    peace,

I dont think it benefited the employee. I think it was just someone who has worked too long in the service industry. Sometimes it is hard to remember these people are just people paid a meager hourly wage. I am sure they get flipped a lot of $hit from strangers calling abouth their reports.

Just trying to see the other side, I guess. Unfortunately, we, as consumers, have to pay the price for this bitterness. I am glad hubby and y'all were able to get some things straightened out. His report is finally PERFECT!!! Now, mine, on the other hand...I have a beef with them about a bk they never investigated but said they did...here we go again, lol.

Well to answer that question as to why an employee of EQ would do that, their are some factors involved. I have often wondered about the professionalism (sp?) in these CRA's. I tend to compair the CRA's to a corporation here in my home town. We have a First Card credit card company here and they hire a lot of college students because they have flexible hours. I've walked through the company once with a friend of mine who worked there, and noticed all of the clowning around by all of the young employees. Most of them had hang-overs from the night before and could really care less about anything in the world except for their cell phones and who's having the next party. (no offense to the younger crowd, I used to love to party myself). But I always wonder if these CRA's just hire whoever they can get, or if they are picky because they have a professional organization to run?

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Credit bureaus are just like a factory. Every employee is on production. They are expected to verify a certain amount of things and complete so many investigations every hour. All they have to do if they want to goof off a bit is just click "verified" a couple times to catch up and then they don't have to do squat for a few minutes.
