Haven't you all heard the complaints and lawsuits from stores who are charged for the cobranding of debit cards. We know stores pay a % fee for the pleasure of accepting a credit card.

Perhaps stores are striking back? The philsophy here being that your customer will think if I have to show id anyway why don't I just write a check because most of the convienence factor of credit cards will be gone? That is what I think may be going on as I have noticed this happens a whole lot more in the past two months since I've heard of the VISA/Mastercard debit card lawsuits.

IN THE LONG RUN...checks are MORE expensive to process!!!

    ARMORED CAR FEE...DEPOSIT FEE...TIME TO PROCESS THEM...EXTRA TIME FOR CASHIER...ID/PHONE NUMBER/ETC

The CREDIT CARD COMPANIES (OR A MIDDLEMAN PROCESSOR) do all the work and deposit the money in our account in usually less than 72 hours!!!

CREDIT CARD GUARANTEED PAYMENT AT POS
CHECKS...WHO KNOWS TILL AS LONG AS 14 DAYS LATER!!!

If credit cards become too INCONVIENT...I would go to a PIN# card...BUT NOT CASH OR CHECKS!!!

I write MAYBE 50 checks per year...(12 or 13 of those are MORTGAGE)

I EFT "TONS" THOUGH (ON-LINE PAYMENTS)
