Is opening up a checking account permissable purpose to run a credit check? I don't remember seeing anything on the application saying they would run my credit. USbank by the way.

Yes it is pretty common and most banks do run a credit report and run you through Chex systems.

Did you apply for a Line of Credit with the checking account? I did with NetBank and they pulled EQ.

    MY OPINION...NO!!!!

    Check authorization company, like CHEX...fine.

If I was NOT notified that they would "PULL" a credit report to get a checking account, I WOULD WALK OUT THE DOOR WITH ALL MY MONEY.
