Has anyone had any success with Chase and PFB. I was declined for a CHASE Platinum offer and I was told to send in additional information and was flat out denied and they kept requesting additional information, until I got fed up and wrote to them via PFB. They gave me the runaround for 2 weeks and then I get this B*#%!@ in the credit department who kept repeating the same thing over and over and then when I asked for her full name, she hung up the phone. I made nice little note of who she was. I simply wanted an explanation as to why they keep requesting add'l info and then continue to deny with the same reason codes.

I was a little pissed to the say the least, but I will see what their response will be via PFB and then I will make my final decision to close it or not.

I don't need them wasting my time.

If you have had any experience or success via PFB with Chase please let me know.

They have already responded to me via e-mail, which is a good sign.

    Any feedback is much appreciated.

My experience was also bad, but a bit different.

Chase told me in a rather harshly worded letter there was no way they'd approve me. They also said that any derogs cause a turn down and they cannot change that policy.

Funny thing is, they named accounts that TU supposedly deleted in their "reason" list.

I think they suck. I've heard some other negatives about them.

has had success with PFB and Chase. I was declined initially for a standard card, reason: collection from 1996!!!!1

    Yes....1996!!!!!!

I sent a letter to Chase, stating that their reason is outrageous.

And some other harsh wording. In the end, I concluded that the credit card industry needs an overhaul for these landish approval standards.

I used the influnce wrapper, from PFB, and sent copies to some members of Congress.

To my suprise a month later, the card arrives in the mail. This has been over 6 months ago.

No limit increase and I am still on the intro 2.9 rate.

    Good Luck

I too have been getting the runaround with Chase...even after a PFB letter, they still blow me off. And when I ask them about the status of my reply, they send me an email stating that "it is in their executive office for further consideration..." Sure...since September 9th???.

Yeesh. What a mess. No wonder I don't mess with Visa and Mastercard companies. I hope everything works out for all of you.

You can also tell anyone who tells you that they dont approve with derogs that they are wrong. I got Chase Platinum with a paid tax lien, and a GMAC charge off from 1996.

I will say that when I called to check status on my app, the rep read those two items off my report, so they are one of those companies who get your report and read it pretty thoroughly. The rep told me that although they could see I had derogs, I also had positive trades, and my derogs were old, so they approved me, $5k limit. Dont let Chase push you around, they DO give cards to people with derogs!

I had a Chase account from my early college years. Closed after I gotten afford to make payments and fell behind. This all happen in from 1990-1994. I paid off the balance in 1995. Listed on Eq and Exp as closed by consumer/ current/ was past due. Listed on TU as paid/paying as agreed since 12/92. Its a positive. Go figure?!!!

    A few questions...
I would like to apply for a new account.
What credit score do I need to get an approval?
Can I reopened my closed account?
    Which report do they pull?

Thanks for the encouragement, I was in the 650 to 670 range, cannot remember exactly and they do pull TU.

I check yesterday and my application is still in the pending status, so hopefully this will be resolve once and for all. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thank you and good luck to others.
