But... I had a nice and long talk with the nice lady. She told me that this is the last exeption they will make for me. Next time if I write a letter via pfb, she will not be able to help me anymore. I really need to go thru customer service. But anyway for now I have the 0% bt offer. I guess they keeps tabs on how many times you go thru the corporate offices. edit: Just checked online, it's a 0%apr thru feb 1 2003 with no bt fees. thank you citibank!
leo, Congrats! Would you mind sharing the letter you wrote to get that? Also, were you being denied a promotional rate on your current card or is this in respect to a BBD? Thanks,
I need that letter too. I wrote to CITI-Bank using their web site and requested a balance transfer offer on a ZERO balance account. Credit Limit of 3500. Account held only since last June.. but with an excellent credit history.. just large balances. I wasn't even looking for a 0%.. but a new 2.9 or 3.9. The replied by email for us to call which hubby did and the best they said we could get was the same as their mail offer of 7.9 w/o a fee .. NO THANKS! I will wait for something better. On Saturday I sent in a 2.9%/ 6month offer from state farm requesting an $1800 pay off of a 2.9% Juniper tht runs out on April 26th. The ZERO sure would be better. I would apprecaiate your response. Cherie.
I applied for this account about 4 months ago. I originally applied for the aa silver and upgraded it to the platinum select. The original terms where 14 + apr with no bt offer. I wrote a letter via pfb and got my rate reduced to prime + 3.9, but still did not get a bt offer. The account was to new according to the executive asistant. I charged $4500 on the card and recently bt the balance to my fusa card. Then, I once again wrote a letter via pfb. It's not much of a letter, very simple and straight to the point.
this is the letter I wrote to get a interest rate reduction: January 2, 2002 TO: Sanford I Weill, CEO Citibank N A 399 Park Avenue New York, NY 10022-4614 FROM: leo728 brooklyn, NY xxxxx leo728@hotmail.com RE: PLANETFEEDBACK REFERENCE NUMBER xxxxxxx Dear Mr. Weill, I expect a great deal out of any bank I do business with, because it plays such an important role in my financial life. I have written a couple of times and have always received prompt and courteous service from you executive office. I once again write to ask for a lower interest rate on my newly aquired platinum select account, xxxxxxxxxxxxxx and want to also know if I am able to get a balance transfer offer. please contact me at 646-xxx-xxxx I've always been extremely pleased with the service I've received at your bank. Because of this, I definitely plan on using your bank in the future, and I'll definitely recommend you to others. I hope everyone who contributed to this great effort is congratulated. leo, thanks for the letter. btw - if I were you, I would ask PBM to delete your personal info (address, card account, area code) ASAP. You never know the minimum a thief needs to work on.

But like I said before, don't over use the pfb privileges, because they keep tabs on how many times you have contacted them. I have so far used them 5 times.
I DID THE "BDD" then was told that my account WON'T EVER HAVE A BT!!! I did a PFB and also FAXED a letter... Long story short...got my 0.00% FOR 9 MONTHS...I'M HAPPY...the card is no longer in the "SOCK DRAWER"... I guess 9 months is better than NO months...
Dear Mr. Weill, I am writing with a question about the rates at Citibank N A. Dear Citi-Bank, In February I wrote via the website: I appreciate the 7.9% offer by mail but I am writing to inquire if you might have any better offer for me at this time. I've read on credit card message boards that your company has offered no fee BT for life deals as great as 4.9% and even lower. If such an offer might be available I would like to extend my credit line to 5,200 and transfer the same. Thank you Citibank: Given the circumstances you described, it is best if we speak with you directly. Please contact our Customer Care Center. They can be reached 24 hours a day at 800-950-5114. Outside the U.S., please call collect at 605-335-2222. Thank you for using our website. So I called.. and the account representative tells me that the 7.9% is the best offer I have available to me. I wrote a note back the same day. I was just a little annoyed saying why was my time wasted in asking me to phone your company only to hear a "sorry, we can't do any better for you at this time" response. A friend of mine today tells me that she received a 0% until Feb 03 deal and suggested today that I try writing again using planet feedback. Here are the credit card rates (that have balances)that I am paying today. Bank of America 4.75 ( for life)- 11.5K Chase Manhattan 6.65 (variable w/prime) 5.1K Juniper 2.9 - ends 4/22/02 $1800 Thank-You Virginia Thank you for taking the time to read this. I would appreciate a response within 10 business days. Sincerely,
LOL @ George. So how long do you think it will take them citi folks to respond to my pfb letter? What are the chances ? Just guess. Hubby has near perfect credit just high debts.. Last score using the credit expert.. just 708 it went DOWN when our mortage showed paid. The new refi is not reporting yet.
A week or two to get a call... I told them to NOT call...E-MAIL or US MAIL...THEY CALLED ANYWAY!!! Why they have to get "VERBAL PERMISSION" to give you 0.00% for 9 months, I HAVE NO CLUE...
maybe to intimidate us, so that we don't bother them again next time? But anyway, they are nice to deal with. Guess who I am going to write next time I need a favor??? lol, everytime they call me they say it's the last time they will help me out, but every time they give me what I want.
I pfb them and got a letter saying my account was the best they can offer...P+ 7.9%..I will just use it for the bt offer i got which was 7.9% till paid/
I SEE ADS IN THE "COUPONS" IN THE SUNDAY PAPER JUST ABOUT EVERY-OTHER-MONTH...0.00% FOR 9 MONTHS!!! "I already have an account, HOW can you say a new customer is better than me, YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW THEM YET"
