FOLLOW UP.. Hubby got call from a Citi employee today. He went froma CL of 3500 to 5200 AND at a FOR LIFE Balance Transfer offer of 3.9%.. Done.. Thanks all and Planet Feed Back! Cherie
I wrote a letter to citi-bank using planetfeed back.com. The letter I wrote is in a previous post. Hubby got the call as a direct result of the letter. A balance of 5,100 is what I will be moving in six days.. why six days? because we changed checking accounts and I hadn't updated the information in order to pay my payments online. Just last week I used the citi-bank card and made an online purchase of $25.55 .. in order to get a new balance to report to experien.. Now I have to wait to pay off the 25.55 purchase BEFORE I do the balance transfer. If I don't, I'll be paying 15.65% in interest on that purchase as long as I have the 5,100 for life BT- payments are always paid to the lowest interest rate first. It's not a whole lot but this balance transfer will be saving us just over t $10 a month in interest to start. We will be going from a 6.4% variable Chase Manhattan to 3.9% Citi-Bank (for life of the transfer). The way I see it I am getting out of debt another $10 a month faster. Since finding this board and one other .. we've gotten our rates down quite a bit. Don't hesitate to ask.. and ask again. After this transfer is completed our current estimated CC balances and rates will be: BofA 11,500 4.75% Variable Citi-Bank (His) 5, 100 3.9% (until paid) Juniper 1800 2.9% (until April 22).. state farm 2.9 for six months pending Citi ( mine) 825 0% (until August) DISCOVER CARD USED OFTEN AND PAID MONTHLY EARNING CASH BACK - HOPEFULLY
Thanks Marci if it wasn't for you, others like you.. and lot of prayer we wouldn't be so credit card smart these days and headed in the right direction .. which is ultimately to be out of cc debt forever. I hope I can be so helpful to others someday. sincerely cherie
