Well, if anybody's keeping score around here, I think Citibank is doing a great job of responding to letters through Planet Feedback. I'd tried for months to get a better rate via the phone, even talked to the retention folks... Four business days after I wrote them a letter requesting a fixed-rate balance transfer and lower rate, they called back and offer 5.9% until the balance is paid off.

Now I'd like to give it a whirl with my Bank of America card. PFB doesn't have an address listed for their credit card division - wonder if I should just send it to their main address?

I got a $4,000 increase from BANK OF AMERICA and a BT rate of PRIME till paid...(THEY MAILED THE OFFER).

CITIBANK, I got a SECOND inquiry and still got DENIED...(PFB).

you didn't say what the new rate is for purchases. And also how long have you had the account and have you done a bt before.

    I don't use it for purchases...(16.90%)
    Balance transfer from day one...(03/00)

I had moved some funds out of the account about two weeks before planning to do a balance transfer to citi, and my promo apr (which was 5.9 for the lift of the transfer) had expired the week that I had cleared my balance on citi down to zero. They gave me prime + 5.9 for purchases.
hope you find that info useful.
