I wrote Providian a dirty letter via PFB and send it off on Monday. This letter concerned a 90-day-late from 1999, which I have been trying to get removed for about 6 months. They called my wife today and said that they cannot remove the late pay notation, but did give us back $100 for the fees we paid associated with this. I appreciate the money, but how can I now go back and get this removed from my credit report? Illini EQ- 630 EX- 605 TU- 683
I have read previous posts of people threatening lawsuits if the lates were not removed... pretty agressive, but it might be the only way. I do not think they want to deal with a possibility of a lawsuit over a late pay notation. It seems to be an effective method. Other then that, keep disputing it.
