I got an email today from a woman named melisa from BofA that after reconsideration they have decided to give me a visa platinum with a 5,000 dollar limit! Wow, thanks George for recommending using PFB!
Congrats, When did you send a PFB? I sent something through PFB for BOFA about 3 weeks ago and I have yet to hear anything.
oh, I just saw something bad, they gave me the 12.99 card:-( not the card with the 9.9 rate. Well now that I have optima plat 8.24 and chase plat 0% till 04 then a go to of 6.99 and even my MBNA plat plus is 11.99 this card will be in the sock drawer helping my ratios until they agree to lower the APR. But with a 10,000 Cl from my new chase stockback and 5,000 form my new BofA and a CL increase of 7350(now 9350) on my amex optima plat my ratios should be ALOT better this month. Does anyone know if BofA reports CL or high credit?

10/20/03 - Applied for BOA Platinum, got instant denial: · Number of bank/national trades with balances 75% of high credit · Net fraction revolving burden 11/13/03 - Sent a letter to TU to request my free report. 11/18/03 - Sent a PFB letter to request reconsideration. 11/20/03 - Got my free TU report. 11/25/03 - Got the card - $4,100 LOC, no second inquiry.
11/26 Applied online, instant denial - BK 11/26 Spoke w/BofA CSR and supervisor, was told 7 years post BK and 5 years for a secured card (!!) 11/26 PFB 12/05 Email sent about status, checked status, denied for BK Not sure if the repeat email/status message a week later was related to PFB. Looks like everyone else had significant delays. They pulled TU (we like that, FICO was 683 before they pulled.
Applied for BofA -- Denied Reason: BK or public record on file PFB -- Ask for reconsideration 3-days later. Approved $7000 OK Good. What is the APR? I Can't tell you (or so he says) 7-days later the card arrives, APR is 11.99% fixed. Called "R" 3 times to ask for lower rate. Answer? NO! Said come back in 9 months and we'll see what we can do for you. Don't know if I should sock drawer it or what. Providian is interest free until May 2004 so that will be the front card in my wallet until then.
Congrats!! That is very encouraging. In general how did you word the PFB letter? "My file is very much improved after the BK, pleae take another look" or??
