for those that used pfb, how long before you heard anything? I'm not counting on getting results, but I figured it's worth a try. I sent out a letter about student loans, and to filenes today.

I also wrote a letter about paid child support. I was hoping to cc it to state reps, but you can't do it if it's one that you have to print out yourself. It would've made it so easy. Oh well!

    tracy,

It really all depends on whom the letter is addressed to. Discover does not answer PFB, but Amex and Cap One both do.

Usually, if you use PFB, and haven't heard anything in 2 weeks I would follow up with a snail mail version - CRRR.

    Tracy,
I had one experiance with PFB and it was GREAT... It had to do with my health insurance company and a couple of BAD tradelines in my credit report..I complained and got a response by phone the very next day...

it all depends on who you are writing to..some are great at responding and others take some time to repsond.. thats if they do...

none the less PFB seems to be a great place/tool..

tracyb0313 I have done 20+ PFB and all the above answers are TRUE FACT...MBNA
was the < 2 hours...(BUT THEY ARE ALSO ONE OF MY "NEVER" ONES)...

It all depends on WHO you write to...and WHAT your problems are...

    success with PFB

I used PFB to write a letter asking for "goodwill removals" of late notations from back in 1998 from JCPenney. I had one 60 day and two 30 day lates.

They had someone call me within about 3 days of posting. I had given my cell phone to make it easier to contact me. The person I spoke with agreed to remove lates as goodwill gesture.

I got followup letter in mail, saying they would send to all three CRA's to allow 30-60 days to update. The account is not currently reporting on TU, and it still shows late on Equifax, but Exp shows paid as agreed, no lates. It has been about 45 days, so I'll give it a little while longer.
