    AMEX has come up with a "one use credit card number"

    NOT GOOD FOR "IN PERSON" PICKUP WHERE YOU WOULD HAVE TO SHOW THE CARD LIKE JC PENNEYS.

    Many issuers have protection regarding online purchases. I know Citibank, Capital One & Providian provide guarantees relating to online purchases. Good luck Pat!
