Can you provide feedback as to what your experience has been (if any) with this Pioneer First platinum "program". They say you can get up to $5K unsecured credit line. Seems like a merchant card. I have never heard of them.

According to what I saw on their ad:

    Annual percentage rate for purchases
0% >>0% APR (this is really not a cc, right?) <<
    Variable-rate information
    N/A
Grace period for repayment of balances for purchases
    N/A
Method of computing the balance for purchases
    N/A
    Minimum finance charge
    N/A
    Annual Card Member Fee
    $35.00
    Fees for paying late
    $25.00
Fee for exceeding the credit limit
    $25.00
    Fee for returned checks
    $20.00
    Monthly Membership Fee
    $10.00

Plus they have an enrolment fee of 149.95. Meaning 150 + 120 + 35 = $305 for the first year. Are there any other costs.

Supposedly, if you get this, you can only buy their merchandise.

Also, do you know if they report to all CRA's?

ACTUALLY LESS THAN FREE...you buy a catalogue for like $5.00 and get a coupon for $10.00 so you paid (-$5.00) for the catalogue...so your first order is $5.00 OFF and a FREE catalogue...

    Dogman,

Thanks (dog)man! You are right, we can definitely warn each other for possible mistakes (or blunders in cases like Pioneer First) and save money and torture. And you are right, now these suckers have added a monthly fee. So earlier it was $185 for a year now it is more than $300 for the first year. Unbelievable!

    George,

I knew about JCPenny's $5 catalog offer, and I can see your humor in that it will be better to take a tested working catalog offer as opposed to the rip-off's like Pioneer.

    Charlie,

Thanks for this link, man. I am so glad that I asked the forum before even thinking about their so called program. I simply searched for "Pioneer" and got at least 4-5 cases of majorly rip-off'ed tortured souls.

They have TV ads as well as internet pop up windows as well as junk emails.

    HOWEVER they make false promises.
The Platinum Visa card is not a CC but a catalog card.
Card takes 3 months to arrive.
    Their online catalog is buggy.
Customer Service does not pick up. When they pick up, they lie telling people that is actually a CC.
    Web site does not work.
They do not refund the fee.
    ...
    ...
    You name it!

    Thanks to all of you...

Just as FYI to others, I am putting the link to the search results from Charlie's original link.

    http://www.ripoffreport.com/results...neer&q5=&q6=&q7=&searchtype=0&submit2=Search!

    Enough said.
