Hi Hubby has 2 acct of experian...one is Dept of educ. it popped up as a collection about a month ago. We never recieved a bill nothing in fact we pay his student loans every month, I validated with them they wrote us back a strange letter saying something about the Dept of Ed overpaid the school at some point, the school was supposed to sent the cost on to us..etc. BUT the end result it was determined we didn't owe the Dept of Ed anything and if it was being reported we needed to take it up with the CRA ourselves !! So....I disputed it as no knowledge of the acct. Experian updated it a a paid collection ! and it says Student loan permanently assigned to government. so...now what..? Problem #2 ...I went through the validation process with a second ca (credit control services) with no response at all. The OC is listed as Proggressive insurance I'm not sure what it is maybe a bounced check form a few years ago with no validation I can't be sure what te hell it is ? but we currently have them as our insurance. So I decided I would try to just dispute it with the CRA as paying current that too simply came back as a paid collection..arrggg ! Our ultimate goal is to get a morgage with a VA loan so the fico isn't as pivitol as another loan so I guess a paid collection is one less thing I will need to pay but this is really getting ridiculious.and frustrating. Progress is slow... JAmie
