Captial one from $500.00 to $1300.00, waived my fee, and lowered my APR from 19.80% to fixed 14%

As crazy as this may sound, I wrote them something like a mad customer would say in person. My letter said something like: For years I paid your high interest, I paid your high annual fees, I have never been over the limit, or had a late fee... but have never received more than a hundred dollar increase that basically you charge me for... bla, bla, bla...

They never called or nothing... just gave me a credit of ($59.00 - annual fee), lowered my APR to a fixed 14%, and increased my credit limit to $1300.00.

Now this is the best part... I have an older account with them, that now I can combine into one account... (to the older one of course!) to give me a $2000.00 credit limit... just got off the phone with them, they said no problem... Capital One?!?!?!?! hard to believe...

I have had terrible luck with planet feedback so far in terms of credit repair (but very good luck otherwise).

If I had to guess I would say your chances are good with a good letter, and a reputable credit card company.

So far I have sent goodwills (solid ones, I thought) to a major car loan company and a major mortgage company, but was turned down rudely by the former, and politely by the latter, after lengthy consideration.

I wonder if this has been the case for others (good luck w/ general complaints and CC companies, not so good luck with those juggernaut mortgage & car comnpanies)?
