An Amex Account Executive called me today in response to my Planetfeedback letter. He apologized profusely about the closure and non-reinstatement of my account. He not only reinstated my account but also increased my limit from 6000 to 9900. He is also sending me what is required as far as documentation to increase the line even further. He stated that of the over dozen account reps. I spoke with only one documented they even spoke to me. He was sincere and very apologetic. He also gave me his direct line which I called him back on. And I will call him again to pick his brain for info. And, Saar, he also stated that certain account reps. are paid commission on baggage and flight insurance. Just in case any one thought they were offering it to be kind. Bottomline. Planetfeedback seems to work. Rock On PFB!!!
Your tone seem to suggest this contradicts what I've said. It doesn't. Businesses are here to make money. They offered me better terms because they figured if they didn't, they wouldn't ba making any money at all. Whether this is a matter of management policy or a particular agent's discretion, and what was their motive in offering me better terms -- I don't know, and I'm not sure I even care. Saar, There was no tone intended. I just mentioned it because I saw your post about baggage and flight insurance. I thought it was interesting that the account exec. even told me that some reps. get commission on the insurance. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
