Platinum Auto Financing - Cap ONE?

I got an offer from them today offering a Platinum Auto Financing package for up to $30,000.
They sent a reservation number and you can apply via web or phone. Their big benefit is that they guarantee a dealer will not do another credit check - you print out their Cap One Auto Finance certificate and take it the dealer. Sounds good.

I am sure the interest rate depends on credit, down payment, etc.

Anyone get this offer or actually use them? What kind of experience did you have?

    Thanks - Dogman

yep... I get those in the mail every few months or so... up to 30k. Guess I can't buy a BMW or Mercedes.... or a good SUV for that matter :)

I didn't like the idea that I would have to go to their dealer...

Hi Killer! It is www.carfund.com - I wonder if it is a trial as my offer is nontransferable. They will check credit though.

I wonder if Mr. Cooke ultimately got me on the excellent customer prime list - hope - right?! LOL!

I wonder if I could get a good rate with $15K down on a new $30K Infiniti G35 sport sedan? Actually
$33K with tax, license, moonroof and helix headlamps. Aarrffff - black/black of course!
    Check it out!

Hey Killer, then, I would call AMEX, tell them to charge $30K, they would verify the funds and I'd be buying gas with points dude!

    I fixed the link LOL!

I would be trading in the 1995 MAXIMA GLE - 87K miles - superb condition. And cash to make up a decent down payment. Of course the G35 uses the engine and chassis of the new Z Car....

Killer - to be blunt, I would LOVE a MINI Cooper - but they are shorter than a GEO and I am 6'2" - and of course really want the Mini Cooper S - arrrfff

    best regards - dogman

Interesting ..... I wonder what the difference is if you have the res number? It tells me to apply in the next ten days...

Frankly, with my down payment, I am sure I could get Infiniti Financial Srvcs to do it at a good rate.
But, I have had increasingly better and better offers from Cap One - since staring with the $49 secured card 5 years back.

waiting for carpet cleaners to get here - later - dogman

If you are paying with "FUNDS" that have NOTHING to do with financing from the dealer...HOW COULD THEY HAVE A "PERMISSABLE PURPOSE"???

If they "PULLED" a credit report...I WOULD WALK!!! And report them to the BBB, FBI, CIA, KGB...anybody who would listen...

I see your point - in essence - I'll be paying a price for a product at a dealer, then after I have paid, I will take the product home. You are correct - in this case financing is a totally separate issue.

Marci - I saw the part about sending me to their preselected dealers. They did have Infiniti. But, I know what you mean.

Engine shared with Z but body from the "can't get it in America" Skyline GT. Sounds like it's going to be a great car but will they discontinue the G20. Thats a great little front driver.

I like the G20 also - but have been drooling for this ever since I first saw it in Motor Trend a year or two back, which compared it to the Skyline GT.
Apparently that Skyline GT is fast....

I don'y know anything about Cap One auto financing.

But Dogman you should check out the new Nissan Maxima radio commercials. In the background there is an "AH Rooo" Dog sound. It is hilarious.

I got a Camry instead of a Lexus as I am cheap. I would probably get a Maxima rather than an Infiniti.

Whatever you buy do have some fun with it.

The radio is on and I don't believe it, there it goes "AH Roo". Maxima is calling but I just bought a Camry. Oh well.

Geez - maybe that Ah roo is telling me get another Maxima!

Camrys are very nice - they look sharp, and I would certainly get a Camry instead of an LS300 Lexus.

    G35 - Maxima - I think the G looks great.
