We were burgled recently. Thank god citi platinum select offers double 1 year warranty and "loss within 90 days" insurance automatically!!! They are paying for a brand new $200 item!! Good reason to have platinum select from citi, it really does give you added benefits!!
Sorry to hear you were "burgled" but glad to see you got some satisfaction from the use of the Citi platinum card. Aux, I had a friend drop a pair of brand new Revo's in the Chesapeake Bay, bought with card with theft/loss protection...no way to prove it, he was refunded the $$$. I would imagine if the purchases are under a certain amount they just pay for customer satisfaction (they are covered in their insurance policy), however if your losses were larger, they would require a police report, or proof of warranty...some kind of proof that you were not attempting to commit fraud. Mastercard asked for the police report, statement, receipt, and our renters insurance policy # and contact to verify. But they will pay it!!
