    Question-

Can I have a co-signer removed, and have the loan only in my name ? Has this ever been done with PLATO. Wanted to get opinons before I called them.

    Thanks

I jsut called them and they said that after a period of 24 months you can as long as you have good credit and you have to "apply" to do that.

Do you know of a company that would combine the PLATO loan with federal loans for one payment ?

    Thanks

I tried combining a federal loan with a plato loan, but since the plato loan is not a federally guaranteed program, they told me they could not combine the two. Let me know if they tell you something different.

Just be careful with them. They are not good people. If possible, consolidate this loan with another company and say goodbye to Plato.

What you need to watch for is thet they "forget" to send the bills or they send them to the wrong address. My son had 12 student loans, including two with Plato when he graduated. They were mailing the bill to another address, a place where we had never lived. He assumed he was getting all his bills and did not realize this one was not coming. They sent it to collections after 4 months. I paid the bill and $2000 in "attorney" fees to settle it.

Also, it is their policy that if a loan is behind, they will not, under any circumstances, notify the co-signer. The first time the co-signer hears is a call from the CA.

Also, they use NCO, everybodys favorite collection agency.

Do you know of a company that would consolidate this loan with the Sallie Mae loans ?
