hi to everyone, i want first thank all in advance who is willing to help me. ive been reading and i think i got a good understanding of the big picture. but now that i am ready to start the process i need some help. i ordered all three free reports. i recieved my trans union in the mail today. i went online and disputed my previous addresses and previous employment as not mine. so now i am waiting for the results. on my report i have a chapter 7 bankruptcy and 5 adverse accounts all were included in my bankruptcy. under remarks two of the five say "included in bk" and the other three say "chapter 7 bk" under balance they all are left blank. and under pay status they all say unrated. they are all charge-offs but no where on the entries does it say it. my question is how is the best way to dispute them. should i just dispute them as not mine or there a better way to dispute them? or am i doing something wrong. thanks for any advice you can give me.
What are you disputing? The amount, the type of account, what? They should properly show "discharged in bankruptcy" and zero balance. If that's what's showing, they are reporting properly.
the entries are correct. i am trying to get them removed anyway. i am just trying to find the best way to get them removed. i am going to use the sample letter i found in the sticky post. i read some posts where its best to dispute as not mine and others that recommend disputeing specific imformation on the tradeline.
