If you continue paying as "Rina" suggests, you will have done nothing t improve your credit report. The "bad credit" information stays on your credit reports for 7 years, starting with your FIRST "30 day late" entry. This is the SOL (Statute of Limitation) for your credit reports. Each State has ANOTHER SOL for the time period that you can be sued. It also starts with your first "late" date. In Texas the SOL is 4 years. You can no longer be sued on any credit card debts that your EXPERIAN (the only accurate report) shows as "coming off" the report in May 2005 or earlier. (7 reporting years minus 3 equal 4 year Texas SOL)
