Hi everyone, any input would be very appreciated. I have 21 negative in my credit report and even looking at this report, I dont understand it. I have filed my bk in 06/01 and should include all my debts. Chase Status: Account charged off. $11,262 written off. Date Opened: 11/1992 Type: Revolving Reported Since: 10/2000 Terms: NA Date of Status: 10/2000 Monthly Payment: $0 Last Reported: 10/2000 Responsibility: Individual Credit Limit/Original Amount: $11,262 High Balance: $11,262 Recent Balance: $11,262 as of 10/2000 Recent Payment: $0 Account History:Charge Off as of 10-2000 MY questions are: 1. What does the status means? I like to improve my score because my current score (EXP 559) didnt go up much from 2 years ago. 1. Other ones on in "Recent balance" would put zero, this one has $11,262, how this impacted my score? I have coupled more like these, either the status the similiar but with zero on recent balance or totally similiar with the above sample. Should I just leave them as is, or dispute them? and what reason should I choose? I really need to increase my score. Thank you again!!
I dont understand your posting. The date reported was on 10/2000 and the cc opened in 1992. My BK 7 is on 06/01. I havent been paying my bills since mid 2000 then in 2001, I cant stand the collection letters and call, then i decide to fill BK.
Re: Please explain this status to m I will assume that this was included in your BK. You can dispute it as not yours, see if it falls off. Then you dispute it for accuracy, again assuming it was in your BK. Check your documents to be sure. Be prepared for it to be updated accurately - that would mean the date of last activity (DOLA) would be moved up to your BK date, a year later. The correct status would be Included In Bankruptcy, (IIB), not as bad as a chargeoff or late but still negative.
The reason for this is the company is ignoring 623(a) of the FCRA; where (if it actually was included in bankrupsy) they would have to report the update in the status to the CRAs. 623(b) is the part that is sueable though. In other words, the company only can be sued if they screw up AFTER you request that the account be verified with the CRAs. So, if you dispute it, then they would update the tradeline as it should be appearing (or let it drop; or delete).
