Can someone explain to me the SOL.

What does it mean when it says Reduced to writing?
    What is No writing?
If all my accounts fall under these SOL then many of them are beyond the Calif. SOL. I have no judgments. I believe most of my accounts are closed and the old ones have all been charged off. Does that change the status of the account?

Any help with understanding this would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to clear my credit but it is all so intimidating.

Every time I start to mail those letters I get scared and think I am not ready.

An open account reduced to writing is a credit card account where you filled out an application. My understanding of the 2 year SOL is when they used to send out credit cards unsolicited. The card just showed up in the mail and you activated it with no written agreement.
