Ok so let me start by thanking you all ahead of time. So here is my question and problem i guess, i have a jeep that i got a used car loan on just about 4 years ago. All payments are current as far as i know. I say as far as i know because my father is the co-signer on the account and havent spoken to him in about 2 years, which is right around when i stopped payin on the vehicle and he picked up on the payments cause he doesnt want it to affect his credit. The jeep is now parked outside of my apartment because the motor was blown on it. So my question here is i do have a delinquency on my credit for a 300 dollar credit card and i believe my credit is shitty im not to sure what the score is (lets put it this way i couldnt get approved for a 500 dollar credit line thru wal-mart). but at the moment i am in need of a car and im wondering what i can do to get a vehical other then coming up with all the money up front. WOuld i need another co signer to get a used car loan? can i even get another loan since the other loan isnt payed off yet? im thinking of gettin a car around 5-6 thousand and could have it payed off in 6-8 months please help i feel so lost and no one to turn to thanks

    Shane,

I'm no expert but I'm thinking that you will have a hard go of getting another vehicle loan right now with the Jeep still owing.

I'd suggest you stash away 2 or 3 payments worth of the money you'd plan on using for a new car loan and get the Jeep's engine replaced and then take over the payments on the Jeep from your dad. That'd be the easiest route to go with regards to getting a running car, it'd do your credit good by having the Jeep's loan paid off and it'd probably make your dad pretty happy too. ;) Good luck!
