I disputed with the CRA. They sent me a faxed letter from OC that had my info hand written in ( name, ss, wrong address ). I then disputed with OC. Received letter from them today stating when account was open, when it was closed and that there were 3 balance transfers. All this typed out but no proof of being mine. This is NOT validation! Any suggestions on what to do now?? Go back to CRA or OC?? By the way....only EQ verified, EX and TU deleted. Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks in advance!

The OC does not have to validate the debt, only a CA has an obligation under the law to validate a debt.

The OC does however have to furnish accurate and correct information about the debt to the CRA's.

If they are not doing this, you need to again contact the creditor and dispute the information with them.

Send it certified and registered with their signature on it that they received it.

    RE-dispute with the CRA's.

Check updated credit reports and results of disputes.

If they are still listed, not maked as "in Dispute" or are incorrect then you have the OC on a violation of the FCRA and now have the leverage to get them to comply with your requirements.

If they fail you can then sue them.
