    Hi,

I've had a credit card account with local Federal Credit Union for
the past 5 years and never missed a payment.

Recently, I moved out to a new town and my mails have not
    been forwarded to new address.
Before moving out, I thought I paid the full balance but
my balance was actually still around $20 or something.

Consequently, I ended up not making a monthly payment
for 2 consecutive months and this has been reported to
    Credit Agency.

I talked to Reps but it was useless as they have no authority to reverse.
I takled some superviser in Collection Department but she simply said plain
NO to my appeal, saying that it's illeagal.

I understand it's my responsibility to check my balance but
I was not able to pay attention to it
    due to unusual personal circumstances.
As far as I know many credit card companies (e.g. Amex)
are very sympathetic toward their loyal and responsible customers.

Please let me know how I could repair my credit score.

    Thanks

Were you talking to reps at the collection agency, or at the credit union?

    Thanks for a reply.

    Hi,

I talked to the supervisor in collection department directly from
the credit union. She said she's the one making the final decision.

    Thanks,

Sometimes collection agencies trick people into believing that they are somehow part of the OC. Just because a CA is the "collections department" for the OC or "works for" the OC or is even "employed by" the OC doesn't mean that they are actually the OC. These are all truthful, but misleading, statements, if you can imagine such a thing.

Try contacting the credit union directly. Address your letter to the credit union office; do not send it to "ATTN: Collections" or anything like that. If your letter is calm and polite, you might convince the credit union to not report anything. However, they're under no obligation to help you out, and if they've sold the debt to the CA, then they have no control over the matter anyway.

Still, it's worth a shot. Costs nothing but your time.

I'd go in and talk to the Manager at the branch office of the Credit Union. He has the power to get things done.

Your issue is less of people stone-walling than people constrained by policies and procedures. You need to get to the people who can overrule the bureaucracy and resolve this problem.

You probably have an FCBA dispute (Fair Credit Billing Act) since you did not receive statements. Time is running short though...
