I am literally sitting here in tears and I am scared to move or I am gonna smash something.

I had TU perfectly clean - enter NCO/Marlin whoever they are....70 point nose dive

    History:

NCO is reporting on Eq - I sent crrr on 4/18 as of today they still haven't signed for it Disputed this debt on 5/8, verified on 5/14

TODAY: Marlin Integrated pops up on TU - same debt different acct number.... I literally went from 712 to 643 in the blink of an eye...

What the hell do I do now....it's apparently (according to pg) a utility accout from 1998, but of course it is appearing on TU like a brand spanking new debt.... I have never rec'd anything from either CA!!!

Please help me! I have read the archives and think it'll be a fight, and I don't see how I can even begin to sue these people while I am living here in Germany....what the heck can I do???

LOL I am soooo worried...I have to get these suckers off in 3 mths or less and w/ what I am reading about them I don't see it happening...

You should be able to get contact information from TransUnion. Send MI the copy of the validation letter that you sent to NCO. Along with a copy of the green and white certified mail receipt, and if you can get it from the USPS web site a print-out of the status of the envelope. (Enter the number along the side of the receipt on the Tracking form, then click the option for the complete history of the envelope.)

As a precaution to make sure that the CA is notified regardless of whether they sign for the letter, I send a copy regular mail as well as the certified, and add a disclaimer which states that "this is a copy of correspondence dated xx/xx/xx, sent by certified mail."

If you want a sample of the letter to use, check out the subsequent CA strategy sample letter http://consumers.creditnet.com/stra...ad.php?s=&goto=newpost&threadid=38945&pgnum=1

I send a validation letter to NCO based on the equifax address also. It was forwarded and took an extra 10 days, but finally got it back. They have not updated my credit report as "in dispute" so they are already violating law...also received a collection notice after they signed for the green card.

Thanks jam...this is what usps.com tells me and has told me for almost a month...

    Track & Confirm

    Delivery Status

    You entered blah blah blah

Your item was forwarded to a different address at 9:41 am on April 24, 2003 in FORT WASHINGTON, PA 19034. This was because of forwarding instructions or because the address or ZIP Code on the label was incorrect. Status is updated every evening. Please check again later.

I don't see an option for history or am I just too mad to see it??

Well don't smash your computer, you are going to need it! Calm down and we will get you thru it.

Send them a validation letter now. There is a post a day or two back about using USPS site for online certified mail. I had heard complaints, but others say it works. It may be a good choice for you being overseas. Check it out.

Now, three months? Are you moving back and want to buy a house?

    How much is the bill?

Take a deep breath, wipe away those tears, and get to work girlfriend!

Can I address both accounts/CA's in this letter?? I mean if they are owned by each other or whatever, but they are each reporting different account numbers can this be killing 2 birds (or CA's) with 1 stone (or DV)??

I'd say it would fall under the open ended account SOL since you have no set limit to the amount of utilities you can use, and they can change the terms of the contract (i.e rates).

I have no idea what state I would fall under....thats the problem!! LOL we are overseas, so I am guessing I would fall under the state in which the debt ocurred???

I sent a VL to NCO about the same time in April, maybe a week earlier. It was sent to the address on Prudential Road, in Horsham PA

I received the green card back from them ( but nothing else) a week later

They are one and the same company, or it is one in the same debt?

Apparently NCO/Marlin are the same company...they either merged or one of them bought the other out...haven't figured out the details yet...but one of those scenarios!!

Thanks for that thread!! some really interesting info...now I just have to use it to my advantage some how....

I think the gist is the only way to get rid of them is threat of suit...and I apparently don't have that threat....if I do I don't know how to use it!
