Hi, I have a cellphone bill that has been sent to collection. It has been on my credit report for 180 days now. As soon as the collection agency sent me the initial letter, I sent them the debt verification letter. I have not heard back from them for about 2 weeks now so today i called the collection agency and they said they received my DVL and they are in the process of verifying the debt and it will take 3-4 weeks. My question is can I still send them pay-for-delete letter while they are waiting for the verification? All I care about at this point is my credit so I am willing to do anything even if i have to pay it all off. Please Help!!
I would wait to see if they can even verify the debt in the first place. You don't want to pay someone anything if you don't rightfully owe them.
