Please help! Should I remove these?

This board is so great! I have already gotten rid of 6 30 days lates! Now I am confused about what to do next. I know it is important to have long credit histories and keep old accounts on my report, but does this apply to accounts closed by creditor?

I couldn't pay my credit card bills. My parents bailed me out, but now I have two credit accounts that are shown as "account closed by credit grantor." They are in the "accounts are reported with no adverse information" section. So does this mean they are not bad? I am so confused.

One says "opened 5/1993, paid off 1/1997, updated 9/1997 Status as of 9/1997: paid or paying as agreed."

The other says "opened 3/1994, closed 1/1996, updated 3/1996 Status as of 3/1996: paid or paying as agreed."

Should I request a removal because they have been inactive for more than 7 years? Or should I keep them because they are my oldest accounts?

    Thanks in advance,
    Kate

Keep them! As you say, they are not showing any adverse information. The length of time they show you have had credit far outweighs the notation "closed by credit grantor"!

    Thanks pd11604!

Does anyone else have an opinion about this? I really don't want to mess this up. I already made a mistake and paid a CA. Now I am stuck with that TL. I'm glad I found this website before I made any more mistakes.

    Thanks,
    Kate
