I know there's probably posts on this, but I can't find them, so forgive me if I ask again. I disputed a late pay CC on my report. TU deleted, EQ verified. They mailed me a Consumer Dispute Verification letter that the CC faxed to them. It has my name, address, ss#, dob, and account number TYPED in, then HAND WRITTEN in is my name, DIFFERENT ADDRESS, verified and signed by the CC Co. My signature is no where on the form at all. What do I do next? Don't they have to show my signature some where on the form for this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! mysti_summer
IMMEDIATELY START THE VALIDATION PROCESS WITH THIS CREDIT CARD COMPANY. THE CREDIT BUREAU DOES NOT HAVE TO VALIDATE. READ THIS. IT WILL HELP ALOT.
Wow, I've never gotten any proof from an OC by just disputing on my CR's. Did you dispute directly with the OC? I don't know if they need to send you a signature with just a dispute. someone else here would know, I'm sure!
Thank you so much for the replies. I haven't disputed with the OC yet. I wasn't sure if I should or not. This account was made on the internet....NEXT CARD...so I never signed anything. Also, even though they have my name and ss# listed as the account holder, the last 10 months of payments were never made by me, they were made by someone else with a different address (signed checks by the other person) so could they acctually come back and say it's mine? Will it even do me any good to write to the OC? Thank you!
