I live in S.C. and have 2 medical bills from october 2001 in the hands of 2 seperate CA on my credit report. One is for $84 and the CA is (credit adjustment bure) in this case I can't recall ever getting anything from them on the debt if I have it's been awhile. The other one is for $670.90 the CA is (Attention LLC) which In there words said"The OC has authorized us to extend a special offer agreeing to accept 50% of the balance as settlement of the bill." They sent me a notice maybe 3 months before saying the same thing except they wanted 66% of the balance. I want both of these off my credit and would like some advice on the best way to go about it. I have found a couple of settlement letters which I figured would be the best choice. But knowing I'm no expert hopefully some one can steer me in the right direction. Thank you in advance for your help.
Have you requested validation as of yet? You have that right whether or not you ever got anything from them!
No i have not sent for validation yet. I would like them off ASAP and figured a settlement letter would be the fastest way to go. I also have a 180 days late on 1 CR and 120 days late on the other 2 CR from a belks store CC that has been paid off since may 2002 do you think a letter of goodwill would get that off. Those are my 3 biggest negatives on my CR. I figure I'd try cleaning my CR from the top. Thanks again.
