I am new to this forum & tried reading up on all types of information that I can. I have 4 accounts that has been paid ofter collection to the CA's. The accounts are showing a zero balance and I am trying to get them deleted. Should I send a validation letter to them & a Not mine letter to the CRB once the green card comes back? If not please help me get this started. Thanks!
With a paid collection, I have found this tricky. First, I have just disputed as not mind with the CRAs. When that didn't work, I wrote goodwill letters to the CAs. Hopefully that will work for you. I'm not sure the validation will work, seeing as you paid the debts. Maybe you can find an error in dates reported, etc that will help you with leverage against the CA. Good Luck.
