I got a call today from Conseco Mortgage.
Oct. of 2000 I sold my home as a short sell.
The amount owed is $13,235. In Nov. 2000
I was supposed to start making monthly payments.
I never received statements of an official invoice, so
I procrastinated and did not pay.
Two months ago received a letter saying my payment
was overdue. Called Conseco and they were to send me an invoice with total and monthly amount due.
Never received either, so delayed payment.
Got a call this morning from the supervisor in recovery saying that monthly payments were no longer an option and unless I payed the entire amount today (wire transer) they would contact an attorney here in my state.
Can they do this, and what are my options
Thank you for any help...I am nervous about this.

I did sign paperwork back in Oct. 2000...it was a promisary note to pay back the money....what I did not receive was a current invoice for payments.
I should have just written a check and that would have been my supporting document, I realzie that now.
