I have a credit report from qspace dated 6/2001. On this credit report it shows this listing. Original creditor name: (name of a credit card company) account open account number:xxxxxxxxx Type of business: all banks type of account: revolving date opened: 3/96 balance date: 3/1/98 balance: $1595 credit limit: $294 monthly payment: $0 past due: $1595 This appears on a credit report dated 6/2001. So is this telling me that this account has been charged off or date of last activity as 3/98 or what is it telling me? If this account was charged off in 3/98, cause it obviously looks very delinquent from this listing, then collection agency is reporting a different date for last activity or date reported. Please I need an answer today.
QSpace uses Equifax (for their standard, single report). The 'Balance Date' is NOT the same as the 'Last Activity' date -- at least not on the standard Equifax (online) report. They are listed separately on the Equifax report. QSpace formats the data however they choose. If it doesn't say 'Last Activity Date', then don't accept it as such. I would suggest that you get your report online at www.equifax.com. Their format specifically differentiates between last activity and balance date.
Thank you for your reply. I am trying to raise doubt as to the accuracy of this one collection account that I have. How I found this old credit report is a wonder. I do have other credit reports and more current than that one dated 6/2001. On credit reports of this month and year. orginal creditor does not appear on account, just the collection agency does. I am pulling at straws as to the accuracy of charge off date, etc. For the mere reason that a CR of last year shows dates of 3/98 and appears deliquent then for orginal creditor. CR for current time does not show orginal creditor and just CA. Trying to come up with approximate timeline that this account could have feasibly been charged off.
