    Greetings Everyone!

I will try to make this as brief as possible. I have been a member of creditnet for 2 years. I remember all of the "old timers" Lizzard, Marie, MaryPC, Roni and many others.

Here is my current situation: After 3 years of credit rehabilitation I managed to get all of my reports clear except Experian. Reason: They are the collection company that owns my last collection account! Go Figure.

Ok: I had the dreaded Gulf State Credit from a Sprint bill from 1996. I was successful in having it removed from Experian last year. I sent them a validation request, No response, and they didn't notate the account dispute from consumer. I sent them a 60 day validation no resonse. I disputed the account with Experian, they verified it. I file a complaint with the Attorney General of PA. Bingo the account is removed.

Two months ago I go to purchase a car. There it is big as day on Equifax Gulf STate Credit, reaged to show a recent collection as of 9/2002. My Equifax score plumets to 595 from 690. I still got a heck of a deal on financing. I qualified for 0% APR, and 0 down on a new Ford Explorer.

So, I dispute the tradeline with Equifax, it came back verified!!!!! So, I called the Attorney General and got copies of the faxes from Gulf STate. I have a copy of the Universal Data Form, to Experian, Equifax, and Trans Union (Never showed up on TU for some reason).

I called Equifax back, they told me to fax them copies of the Universal Data Form, and they will have someone call to do a manual investigation.

I am really pissed now! I have copies of EVERYTHING, every piece of correspondence from the AG and copies of letters with the return receipts. Bottom line, I can sue for a minimum of 5K.

Do I sue, or just fax the information to Equifax and take care of it myself? I don't want to go through this crap again. On one hand I feel like suing them, and yes its for the money!

Any and All feedback is appreciated, especially from anyone that has gone through with a suit.

File a lawsuit. Sometimes enough is enough and if you've reached that point, then go for the money. I know everyone says "its not about the money"...I've said it myself, but I also feel like I've invested a large portion of my life in fixing their mistages over the past year and I felt I was entitled to compensation. So my feedback is...go for it!

    Whyspers,

    Did you file and win?

I settled with all three defendants in two separate cases and yes, I would consider them all wins as I was pleased with the outcomes.
