I recently got a Chevron card cause one of my reason codes are not enough retail accounts, the problem is Chevron reports as a "credit card" and not as a "charge card" like it should. Chevron is now reporting and I still ahve the not enough retail accounts reason code. I know a lot of us have this reason code for not having a higher score, so i was thinking we could all go thru our reports and see which retail accounts actually report as "charge card" and not "credit card" Reports as charge: FCNB: Fingerhut DOESN"T: Chevron Fashion Bug
My target card reports as a charge card. My chevron card hasn't started reporting yet. Have a question for you - When you received your Chevron card in the mail did it include a offer for their premium card ?
Eric- Honestly I don't remember if it did or not. BUT since you brought up the Target card thing, i got a retail Target card back in December, I NEVER used it and it has never reported, maybe I should go buy some socks
Best buy was not too hard to get and reports as a charge card. beware the crappy household bank cc offer though. They may try and sneak it in
My texaco card appears as credit card. I never paid attention until Tu said I didn't have enough retail cards.
All of the credit cards I've ever had showed up as Credit cards and as a revolving credit debt. I've never had a charge card. From my own understanding, I thought you couldn't keep a balance on a charge card. It's just a card you use that you pay back IN FULL when you receive your statement (i.e. American Express Green). I HAD a Target Guest card that I cancelled today. (Just a useless card to me.) So, in about 60 days, I ought to see how this card is reported.
the only problem is I did not check the stupid box indicating I wanted it. They just sent it so I had to cancel it. Now they say they will report a 1 month old cc open and closed card. Gee, just what I wanted.
If that is the case, there should be some sort of recourse, especially if you didn't accept and activate it. I just don't know what that recourse is.
